Paul Harris
Managing Director
Paul has spent his entire working career within the foundry industry. He started as an apprentice foundry technician with Sterling Metals Limited, Nuneaton. Recognised as one of the best foundry groups of its time, Sterling Metals sent Paul to Chesterfield Foundry College, Coventry University and Birmingham University to study material science and cast metals technology. After his studies he returned to the Sterling Metals investment casting foundry, where he learnt to produce metal castings by every casting technique known to man.
He joined Magna Industrials as technical manager in 1986, became a Director in 1991, and bought 100% of the shares in the business in 2004. He has spent most of his working life devoted to the art of melting high temperature alloys, and to developing and manufacturing isostatically pressed crucibles.
Outside work
Paul is a keen rugby player, having played for Nuneaton, Edwardians and Stroud rugby clubs. He retired from competitive league rugby at 35 and now plays touch rugby at Cheltenham. He has been married to Eleanor for 30 years, and has four children and three grandchildren.
